I was raised in a home which taught respect for all officers of the law. My
father, H. Dee Pfeiffer, worked in law enforcement his entire life until
his death in 1995. As his daughter, I was surrounded by Ada County
deputies, judges, lawyers, and politicians while growing up. I still have
the utmost respect for law enforcement personnel, however, I have a lot of
concerns regarding this particular case.
If Officer Chris Rodgers had the presence of mind not to shoot through
Justin Atkinson's temple and into Rodney Page, than why didn't he aim for a
leg or arm, or use pepper spray? No witnesses, including Officer Bill
Smith, heard Rodney Page say anything to Justin Atkinson. Rod did not
commit this violent crime.
Just as Chris Rodger's suffers from the decision he made that night, Rod
also suffers. And his suffering will continue for the rest of his life.
Sending him to prision will not help Chris or Rod, and certainly will not
bring Justin Atkinson back.Anonymous
